Member for Wakehurst, Brad Hazzard, encourages the community to attend their local Anzac Day Service to honour the service and sacrifice of the Australian Defence Force and our Veterans.
Mr Hazzard said it is wonderful the local community can commemorate Anzac Day in 2021 in a responsible and safe way.
“Anzac Day dawn services and marches are able to take place. With important guidelines to adhere to, which protect the health and safety of Australian Defence Force members, communities and of course Veterans, many of whom are seniors in the at-risk category for COVID-19,” Mr Hazzard said.
NSW Minister for Veterans, Geoff Lee, said Anzac Day is a significant day of remembrance, stemming from the First World War and encompassing conflicts both past and present.
“It’s an opportunity for Veterans, current servicemen and servicewomen and the general public to come together and honour those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom,” Mr Lee said.
The Dawn Service and the Anzac Day March in Sydney’s CBD will be broadcast live on ABC.
