The NSW Government has completed upgrading roads around the Northern Beaches Hospital, increasing capacity on the road network and improving access through the area. Transport for NSW would like to thank residents, the local community and commuters for their support and patience during the construction of this important piece of infrastructure.
June 2015 – planning approval granted.
August 2015 – early work for the project commences.
Late 2015 – project site, including the Community Information Centre, established at the north eastern corner of Warringah Road and Wakehurst Parkway.
November 2015 – Stage 1 construction commenced, which involved providing essential access to NBH. This included the widening and upgrade of Frenchs Forest Road, Allambie Road, Wakehurst Parkway, Naree Road, Forest Way and Warringah Road eastbound and westbound surface lanes.
October 2018 – Stage 1 completed, prior to the opening of NBH.
March 2019 – underpass bridge at Hilmer Street opened.
September 2019 – underpass bridges at Forest Way and Wakehurst Parkway completed.
March 2020 – Warringah Road underpass opened to traffic.
August 2020 – project completed!
