Wednesday 30 October was a busy day in the Wakehurst electorate.
In the morning, I was delighted to tour and officially open the brand new MindChamps Early Learning and Preschool Centre in Frenchs Forest.
With operations commencing in January 2020, this facility will accommodate up to 94 children aged between six weeks and six years old.
In opening the Centre, I reflected on the importance of education and the ability of educators who can inspire our children.
Following the MindChamps’ opening, I travelled to Long Reef Golf Club to witness their cheque presentation to our very special Sargood Centre. In addition to representatives from the Club and Sargood Centre, I was also joined by Mayor Michael Regan and Member for Mackellar Jason Falinski.
Congratulations to Club President Steve Twigg and CEO Anthony Dignan on this wonderful gesture. It is great to see clubs who are actively supporting their communities.
After the cheque handover, I also undertook a brief tour of the Club’s wetlands project, which will greatly increase their water storage capacity and provide other benefits for local flora and fauna.
Lastly, Wednesday 30 October saw the official opening of Bridge Housing’s new office in Brookvale and whilst I was not able to attend, I was represented by my electorate staff.
